Jazz is a conversation. A big part of becoming a better player is learning how to listen, respond, and know when to leave space. In lessons, we'll work on the fundamentals, improvisation, time, phrasing, and learning how to play with other musicians. The goal isn't to make you sound like someone else. It's to help you understand the music, become more confident as a player, and start developing your own sound.
TEACHING & MENTORING EXPERIENCE
Jameson has experience mentoring younger saxophone players through Kinder HSPVA’s Jumpstart program, where he works one-on-one with middle school students on fundamentals, technique, music preparation, and practice habits. That experience helped shape his approach to lessons: meet students where they are, explain things in a way that makes sense, and help them become more confident and independent players.
